How long you have played IdyllicStory :
I have been playing IdyllicStory for approximately two weeks.
How long you play IdyllicStory per day :
I play several hours a day, no specific times, though.
How long you have played GMS :
I did not play GMS for a long time, a few years -- maybe. This should not make a huge difference, though, as GMS and private servers are largely different.
Why you want to be a GM :
I want to be a GM to positively impact the game play of other players. As a player, I am incapable of doing very much. All I can really do is socialize with others and train with others (btw, I am not a fan of training). As a GM, I could host events, enforce voting (which leads to more players), and rid the server of hackers.
Another reason I would like to be a GM is for authority and the capability to change things. With more authority, players would listen to me, and with the capability to change things, I could positively impact the server (e.g. suggestions, fixing grammar in NPCs).
Also, I honestly want to help out the server. I could help code things for the server. I would also like to be a GM in order to learn from the current staff members (Gabe and Sander, in particular), because they are capable of coding well.
What you will do as a GM :
As a GM, I will do what I stated above: host events, enforce voting, and get rid of hackers. But, the thing that I would love to do is ensure that players are having a great time. I could also advertise for IdyllicStory on forums such as RageZone and MapleTalk.
One thing I have not stated above is that I am attempting to get into .wz editing. I am already decent at creating and editing maps, and I am trying to learn how to edit other .wz files.
How you can help the server as a GM :
Every staff member adds something special to the staff team and to the server. I believe that I could add many special things to it. For example, I am very playful and active, so when people are bored, I can entertain them! I have gotten to know most of the errors that prevent players from getting onto a server, so, on a chatbox, I could help.
I could also continuously jail and ban wrongdoers who are negatively impacting the server.
What makes you stand out :
What makes me stand out is my playfulness, which can quickly become strictness need-be. Also, I am trustworthy, active, keen, and I will not abuse the privilege of a staff position.
What commands you will mainly use as a GM :
The commands are always different depending on what server you play, but based on my past staff member experience, these are the commands I would use:
!say <message> - To announce a message/notice to the entire server
!cheaters - To find a list of suspected hackers
!ban <ign> <reason - To ban a wrongdoer
!jail <ign> - To jail a wrongdoer
!hide - To hide; I would use this mainly for events or on a suspected hacker
!event - To start an event
!item <id> - To create an item
Have you been GM before (Proof) :
Yes, I have informed both Sander and Koreans of this online. I would prefer not to write it down here, though.
Are you able to follow all the GM rules that IdyllicStory has and are you mentally and emotionally strong enough to handle the strictness and meanness of the owner?
Firstly, there are no written rules for IdyllicStory, but surely there are rules for staff members. I could easily follow rules as I am not the type of person who breaks rules for fun. I am also emotionally and mentally stable and strong; therefore, I could handle the 'strictness' of the owner.
Will you quit this server if your application is denied? Be honest, this won't hold this against you.

Why do you want to be a coder for IdyllicStory :
I want to code for IdyllicStory in order to help it by implementing new features. I would also love to be Gabe's apprentice in coding so I could learn more. Also, as a coder I would most likely be able to have access to all the codes, which would allow me to fix English errors.
Coding experience :
I don't really understand this question.
What you can code :
Unfortunately, pretty much the only things I can code are NPCs, which is why I want to learn more from Gabe. I started to learn a bit of Java, but then I decided to master Javascript and then move on to Java (I know there are no similarities between the two coding languages).
What you are best at coding :
NPCs -- any type, other than quest NPCs.
Other servers you have coded for :
N/A, but everybody has to start somewhere.
Why should we choose you, and not someone else :
There are no other applicants.

I haven't coded in a server before; I suspected that that was what 'coding experience' meant, but it was asked in another question. I don't have experience with java 'in general (don't know what you mean by in general)', I have attempted to learn Java (I have a huge manual beside my bed), but, realizing that I was unfamiliar with coding terms and such, I decided to master Javascript first. I have experienced difficult situations in real life and online, but I will speak of difficult situations online, since that is what should matter. I have experienced difficult situations dealing with hackers, spammers, and abusers -- mostly in jail. I was able to successfully interrogate players. I have also experienced situations where I was put under a lot of pressure and given a lot of responsibility. I have learned to deal with these situations as I was a staff member in a top 10 GTOP Maplestory private server, and the owner/Administrator was strict and intimidating.. | |
